Rick Hardy, RFT, CFEI: Wild Land Fire Specialist & Fire & Explosion Investigator
A former Senior Investigator for Ministry of Forests Special Investigations Unit, Mr. Hardy has over 35 years experience in supervisory and enforcement positions in the forest industry with a primary focus on the need to complete formal investigations and determinations on person-caused wildland fires.
An expert in wildland fire origin and cause determinations, he has also provided leadership on task teams related to suspected serial arson fires and assisted in the review of the Court Procedure and Presentation of Evidence Manual for Ministry Compliance and Enforcement Staff. He has organized and managed complex investigations and has been responsible for the investigations of alleged fraud, theft, collusion, and arson and government non-compliance files as well as environmental and forest legislation.He is a licensed investigator through the Ministry of Justice.
